Schools Under DB Palabek

In Palabek Settlement there are seven primary schools with  nursery classes. But these schools are over-crowded and poorly facilitated. The education and medical facilities are also shared by the local population. Don Bosco Vocational Training Center and four nursery schools are additional facilities to the existing schools. Don Bosco VTC is the only vocational school among all the refugee settlements in Uganda, the mostly serves refugees. Currently it is one of the most active vocational school in Lamwo district.

The Salesian community in Palabek is currently operating four Nursery schools of St Daniel Comboni Nursery and Primary school which is also serving as the Rehabilitation center, Holy Cross Nursery and Primary school,  Mother Thereza Nursery and primary school, St Mary Nursery and primary school which is also a rehabilitation center. We have running only one Vocational training school in Palabek settlement with a series of courses.

St. Mary Nursery and Primary school

This is a School founded by the Salesian community of DB Palabek with qualified teachers to boost on the Academic career of the childrens at early ages.

St. Daniel Comboni Nursery & Primary school

The school is located in Zone 5 with good Academic facilities and it is also a rehabilitation center. The school has a qualified teaching staff to train our childrens.

Holy Cross Nursery and Primary school.

The school is located in Zerusalem with around 700 M from Zerusalem trading center. It has almost all the necessary acdemic materials and playing ground.

Mother Thereza Nursery and Primary school

Our school is the base for the childrens to learn more about their career and we provide our childrens with the best services ever. With Mother Thereza Nursery school academic dreams become real.

Don Bosco VTC

Youth facing unemployment, poverty and lack of educational opportunities often become hopeless. Offering life skills and livelihood training is crucial, especially for vulnerable refugees. Our VTC, accredited by DIT, provides hands-on, 1-year courses in Tailoring, Construction, Hair-Dressing, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Electricity, Solar Installation, Agriculture, Welding, Carpentry, Driving, and Computer. Since its inception in 2018, the center has trained  1,000+ students, equipped with skills for self-employment and improving their job prospects.
