THE INDEPENDENCE MARATHON 2025
The Don Bosco Marathon, held on 9th October in Palabek, was a vibrant and inspiring event organized by Don Bosco Vocational Training Center Palabek. Commonly referred to as the Peace Marathon or Run for Peace, the activity brought together hundreds of participants from within the Palabek Refugee Settlement and surrounding host communities. The event aimed to promote peace, unity, and social harmony, reflecting the Don Bosco mission of empowering youth and building hope through education, sport, and community engagement.
The marathon was not just a race but a symbolic call for peace and togetherness. Participants of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities—refugees, local residents, students, and staff—joined in the run to show that peace is achievable when communities work together. The day was filled with energy, joy, and a spirit of solidarity as runners took to the course, cheered on by supporters and fellow community members.
