Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre (VTC) Palabek, in partnership with the SENDEA Institute for Energy and Management, successfully conducted a two-day Business Bootcamp on 12th and 13th June 2026 for 35 students from the Solar, Electrical, and Agriculture departments.
The bootcamp aimed to equip students with essential employability and entrepreneurial skills, including job readiness, financial planning, marketing, self-analysis, and personal development. These skills are vital in preparing young people to confidently enter the labour market and seize opportunities within the growing green economy.
During the opening session, Br. Hubert Twagirayezu the Principal congratulated the students for choosing vocational and technical courses that are highly demanded in today’s labour market. He encouraged them to remain passionate about their chosen professions and make the most of the opportunities available through vocational education.
Bro. Hubert also emphasized the importance of encouraging more girls to pursue careers in technical fields such as solar energy, electrical installation, and agriculture, noting the increasing opportunities available for women in these sectors.
He further expressed gratitude to Gender Matters for Green TVET and the SENDEA Institute for organizing the training and reaffirmed Don Bosco VTC Palabek’s commitment to fostering partnerships that enhance students’ employability, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.
The Business Bootcamp was conducted under the Gender Matters for Green TVET Programme, with funding support from Jugend Eine Welt and the Austrian Development Agency. The programme seeks to promote inclusive, gender-responsive, and environmentally sustainable technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
Through initiatives such as this bootcamp, Don Bosco VTC Palabek continues to empower young people with practical skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to succeed in employment, entrepreneurship, and community development.
