Ensuring effective learning and practical skill development
The two-day Business Bootcamp held at Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre (VTC) Palabek in collaboration with SENDEA Institute for Energy and Management marked a significant milestone in empowering young learners with essential skills for the world of work.
Bringing together 35 students from the Solar, Electrical, and Agriculture departments, the training focused on enhancing job readiness, financial planning, marketing, and self-development. Through interactive sessions and practical discussions, students gained valuable insights into how they can prepare for employment and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
One of the key successes of the bootcamp was the transformation in students’ mindset. Many participants expressed increased confidence in their ability to plan for their future careers and even explore entrepreneurship as a viable path. The training also strengthened their understanding of financial discipline and the importance of personal development in achieving long-term success.
During the opening session, Br. Hubert Twagirayezu the Principal has encouraged the students to remain committed to their technical training and to recognize the growing demand for skilled professionals in their fields. His message inspired many learners to value their chosen courses and strive for excellence.
The bootcamp also promoted gender inclusion, encouraging more girls to pursue technical and vocational careers in solar energy, electrical installation, and agriculture. This message reinforced the importance of equal opportunities in building a strong and inclusive workforce.
The success of the training was made possible through the strong partnership between Don Bosco VTC Palabek, SENDEA Institute, and the Gender Matters for Green TVET Programme, supported by Jugend Eine Welt and the Austrian Development Agency. Their collaboration ensured a well-organized and impactful learning experience for all participants.
Overall, the Business Bootcamp successfully equipped students with practical skills, confidence, and motivation to pursue employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, contributing to the development of a skilled and empowered generation.
